We, all are acquainted with fried papad. But when this papad is used in making curry, it tastes really nice. Papad dalna is a veg. item which I like very much. When you have no vegetable at your home, you just make this preparation. I am sure you must thank me for this item. You may better taste it with rice than roti or paratha. It is a favourite item of mine

  • Papad  7/8 pieces
  • Potato pieces (250gm)
  • Ginger paste (smal two pieces)
  • Cumin dust (three teaspoons)
  • Turmeric powder(one&half teaspoons)
  • Powder of mixture of cardamon,cloves & cinnamon(one teaspoon)
  • Salt & sugar (as required)
  • Bay leaves (2 pieces)
  • Ghee or clarified butter


1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Lightly fry the papad & keep these aside.
3. Again pour oil in the pan make it hot.
4. Add bay leaves & little cumin seeds to the oil.
5. Now pour the potato pieces into it & stir it well.
6. After 2-3 minutes, when potatoes will be lightly fried, add ginger paste to it & stir well.
7. Now make a mixture of cumin & turmeric powder& add these to the fried potato & stir well in light flame.
8. Add salt &sugar as required & stir it.
9. After two minutes pour 3 cups of water & let it boil for 5 minutes.
10. When the potatoes will be boiled well, add the papad pieces to it
11. Add ghee & the mixture of cardamon,cloves & cinnamon & cover it for 3 minutes.
12. Now uncover the lid & take a sniff of the preparation.I'm sure u must say "wow".
